About Automechanika Istanbul

Automechanika Istanbul is the Istanbul edition of the Automechanika trade fair brand for the automotive aftermarket. According to the organiser, it is organised by Messe Frankfurt Istanbul together with Hannover Fairs Turkey and is held at the TÜYAP Fair, Convention and Congress Center in Büyükçekmece, on the European side of Istanbul.

The organiser's website announces the next edition for 24–27 March 2027 at TÜYAP. ExpoMatch has not independently verified these dates yet, so please confirm them on the official website before you book space, travel or a stand builder.

Product areas

The organiser groups exhibitors into product areas. For recent editions these have included:

  • Parts and components (drive, chassis, body, interior and exterior parts)
  • Electrics, electronics and lighting
  • Diagnostics, repair and workshop equipment
  • Accessories, tuning and customising
  • Car wash and care, lubricants and service-station equipment
  • Dealer and workshop management, IT and alternative drive systems

Product areas and hall plans can change from one edition to the next. Check the current list on the official website when you plan where your stand should be.

Exhibition Stand Planning for Automechanika Istanbul

A custom stand at an automotive aftermarket fair usually has to do two jobs at once: show physical products (parts, tools, equipment, sometimes vehicles) and give your sales team space to meet distributors and workshop buyers. The points below are practical guidance from typical stand projects, not rules of the organiser. The organiser's Exhibitor Service Manual and technical guidelines always take precedence.

Stand size and square metres

Start from what has to fit on the stand: product displays, demo equipment, a meeting area, a storage room and a reception counter. A stand builder can then propose a layout for your booked area. When you request quotes, give the exact dimensions (for example 6 × 8 m = 48 m²), not only the total area, because the shape changes the design.

According to the organiser's exhibitor information, ready-made booth packages are offered only for stands up to 24 m² with one or two open sides. Larger or more individual stands are usually built on raw space by a stand contractor.

Number of open sides

Whether your space is a row stand (one open side), a corner stand (two), a peninsula (three) or an island (four open sides) affects the design, the walls you need, how visitors flow through the stand and the price. Tell stand builders the open sides and, if you have it, attach the hall plan showing your neighbours and aisles.

Design and production

Decide whether you need design and production, production of an existing design, or a reusable system stand you can take to other fairs. For product-heavy stands, plan display heights, load-bearing shelves and lockable storage for samples. If you are considering a second storey, note that the organiser's terms have set conditions for double-deck stands — check the current terms for the minimum stand size and coverage limits and allow extra time for approval.

Graphics and LED screens

Brand walls, product graphics and large-format prints are normally produced by the stand builder. If you want LED walls or screens, give the approximate size and what will be shown (video loops, live demos, presentations). Screens affect the power requirement and the structure that holds them, so mention them early.

Electricity, lighting and technical services

Power connections, compressed air, water and internet are usually ordered through the organiser's or venue's service channels, sometimes with deadlines. Agree with your stand builder who orders what and whether the cost is in their quote. Demonstrating workshop equipment or lifts may need extra power, compressed air or floor loading — check these with the organiser before you commit to a design.

Build-up and dismantling plan

For 2027 the organiser's exhibitor information lists build-up from 21 March (11:00) to 23 March (22:00) and dismantling from 27 March (17:30) to 28 March (12:00). These windows can change; confirm them in the Exhibitor Service Manual. A realistic plan includes delivery slots, crew size, the time needed to install graphics and electrics, a final cleaning, and who is on site for the hand-over.

Organiser approvals

The organiser's terms and conditions require stand designs with technical drawings to be submitted for approval in advance — they mention at least two months before the fair — and state that designs without written approval may not be built. The exhibitor remains responsible for compliance with the participation terms, the Exhibitor Service Manual and Turkish building regulations. The terms also ask stand contractors to show third-party liability insurance at build-up. Ask your stand builder who prepares and submits the drawings.

Transport and on-site logistics

Products, demo equipment and stand materials have to reach the hall within the build-up window. If you exhibit from abroad, plan customs and temporary import early and ask whether your stand builder works with a forwarder. On site, consider forklift and handling services, storage of empty packaging and access times for trucks.

What to Include in Your Stand Brief

A clear brief helps stand builders give you proposals you can actually compare. Include as much of the following as you can:

  • Stand number, hall and exact dimensions, plus the number of open sides
  • Whether you need design and production, production only, or a system stand
  • Products to display, with sizes and weights of heavy items
  • Meeting areas, storage room, reception counter, bar or kitchenette
  • Graphics, LED screens and lighting you have in mind
  • Power, compressed air, water or internet needs for demos
  • Your budget range and what it should include
  • Deadlines: design approval, organiser submission and build-up
  • Brand guidelines, previous stand photos or a floor plan, if you have them

How to Compare Exhibition Stand Builder Quotes

Quotes for the same stand can look very different because they include different things. Before you compare prices, line them up on the same scope.

What is included — and what is not

Check each quote for:

  • Design, 3D visuals and revision rounds
  • Construction, flooring, walls, furniture and storage
  • Graphics and their production
  • LED screens or AV equipment (bought or rented)
  • Electrical installation on the stand and lighting
  • Transport, build-up and dismantling crew
  • Preparing drawings for organiser approval
  • Items usually ordered separately from the organiser or venue, such as power connection, cleaning or waste disposal
  • Payment terms, insurance and what happens to the stand after the fair

Questions worth asking

  • Have you built stands at TÜYAP or at Automechanika before?
  • Who will be our contact on site during build-up?
  • Which parts can be reused at our next fair?
  • What would change the price after we accept the quote?

How ExpoMatch Helps

ExpoMatch is an independent B2B platform for finding exhibition stand builders and requesting quotes. It is not a stand builder, an event agency or the organiser of Automechanika Istanbul.

You describe your stand project once in a quote request. Our team reviews the brief, contacts you if anything needs clarifying and shares it with stand builders suited to the fair, your stand size and your budget. Stand builders who are interested prepare their own proposals and contact you directly. You decide whom to work with. We can't guarantee a specific number of quotes, and proposals are prepared individually, not generated automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

When and where is the next Automechanika Istanbul?

The organiser's website announces the next edition for 24–27 March 2027 at the TÜYAP Fair, Convention and Congress Center in Istanbul. ExpoMatch has not verified these dates yet — please confirm them on the official website.

Who organises Automechanika Istanbul?

According to the organiser's website, the fair is organised by Messe Frankfurt Istanbul together with Hannover Fairs Turkey. ExpoMatch is independent and not affiliated with the organiser.

How early should I contact stand builders?

The organiser's terms ask for stand designs to be submitted for approval in advance — at least two months before the fair. Contacting stand builders well before that leaves time for design, revisions and approval; three to four months ahead is a comfortable starting point for a custom stand.

Can I use a booth package instead of a custom stand?

According to the organiser, booth packages are available for stands up to 24 m² with one or two open sides. Larger stands, or stands with three or four open sides, are usually custom-built on raw space.

Is a two-storey stand possible?

The organiser's terms have allowed double-deck stands only above a minimum stand size and with prior approval. Check the current terms and allow extra time for approval and construction.

How many quotes will I receive through ExpoMatch?

We can't guarantee a specific number of quotes. We share your brief with stand builders suited to your project, and those who are interested contact you with their own proposals.
